HCC MEETS AND GREETS US TROOPS

Our next day to visit with the US Troops will be Saturday, Sepembert 11th, 2010 at the DFW Intl Aiport, first thing in the morning (depending on flight arrival time). If you would like to join us, please sign up in the Narthex or send me an email at danroxcooper@gmail.com.

Approximately 100-250 US Troops pass through the DFW Airport on a daily basis for their two-week Rest & Recuperation Program (R & R). Daily flights arrive from, or depart to, either Afghanistan or Iraq. Troops arriving home have been in transit for close to 20 hours, or longer when one considers land travel! Often battle and travel worn, they are anxious to be home with their families, friends and countrymen. In an effort to encourage and support our deployed military personnel, the R & R Program has encouraged the meeting of soldiers since 1994.  Due to a growing level of interest among HCC members to support our US Troops, we have decided to adopt the 3rd Saturday of every month (this may fluctuate around holidays) to greet the US Troops!

Greet the US Troops
Have you ever wanted to thank the US Troops for the sacrifices they make?
Soldiers will be looking forward to coming home, and HCC members and friends can join together in giving our servicemen a standing ovation for their bravery and sacrifice. We can also pass out goodies and personalized cards as an extra token of our appreciation! Be sure to check the church calendar for our next event!

Give your Farewell to the US Troops
Do you feel called to minister on a deeper level to strengthen the US Troops?
If you are looking for a deeper connection with the men and women in service, one has the opportunity to visit with them prior to their departing flights. This can be a great way to witness and strengthen soldiers. One can become acquainted with the soldiers and their families more personally.

Outbound Flights:
•  DFW Airport
•  Terminal B, Gate B14, (outside security)
•  Manifest is at 12 p.m.

Additional Opportunities to Bless the US Troops
Are you gifted in art and creative work?
HCC members and friends can use their creative abilities to further become involved by taking on small prep projects. Preparing cards, composing poetry, drawing, assembling gift bags, creating signs, making Christmas stockings are a few examples. Also, please remember that the most important gift is to keep the US Troops in your prayers!

To find out how you can help, please contact Roxana Cooper at 214-870-9053 or email at DanRoxCooper@gmail.com

Do you feel financially motivated to bring the Word of God to US Troops abroad?

“The Military Bible Stick comes pre-loaded with the entire New Testament. It is rugged enough to withstand tough weather conditions, can be used in low-light situations, and it easily fits into uniform pockets.”
