Deacon Class of 2027

Elaine Eazor

As a member of Hackberry Creek Church for 30 years, my experiences have included: serving on the worship team, celebration team, finance committee, and as an elder. Currently, I am actively engaged with the youth, participating in the search team for the Youth and Young Adult Minister, serving as the women’s moderator, helping with ushering duties, and being a part of a small group. I have two wonderful children: Haley, 30, who is living in Austin and will complete her PhD in Literature by the end of 2024, and Nate Eazor, 25, who lives in Dallas, works in Real Estate private equity, and is a licensed Real Estate professional.

Kelsey Geeding

Kelsey Geeding is the mother of Micah (14) and Walter (12). After graduating from Baylor University, she began her teaching career. She is currently a kindergarten teacher at Founders Classical Academy where her children also attend. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, playing card or board games, and going on walks with her dog.

Kelsey has been a member of HCC for about 15 years. She has served in the children’s ministry by teaching Sunday School and helping with VBS over the years. Kelsey has also served as Deacon from 2018-2021. She and her daughter are currently ushers on Sunday morning.

Rachel Nelson

I’m a wife, mom, businesswoman, and woman of faith. Michael and I have been married 10 years and have seven children between the two of us – four adult children from Michael’s previous marriage, and three from my previous marriage. Kathryn, 14, is the youngest and attends HCC. I work as a business coach and consultant, and have helped numerous CEOs grow their organizations. I have a Bachelors from CalPoly in Graphic Communication and a Masters from Portland Seminary in Ministry Leadership. I served as Executive Director of Freedom Business Alliance from 2019-2022, and currently serve as Board Secretary and Global Ambassador.

We moved to Texas from the Portland, Oregon area almost two years ago. We visited several churches in the area but knew Hackberry Creek Church was “home” since the first time we attended in the Fall of 2022. We’ve been a part of Brad and Karen Carson’s small group for over a year now, attend Bible studies most weeks, and I attended the Women’s retreat in 2023

(so much fun!). I also plan to teach a Sunday School class on Faith & Business later this summer. I believe God is up to great things here at HCC and look forward to witnessing what’s next!

Elder Class of 2026

John Davis

I grew up in Upstate NY, graduated in Petroleum Engineering from Penn State, and got to Texas as soon as I could (1991). I have spent my entire career working in the oil and gas production industry and just recently retired. Karen and I got married in 1997 and have 2 daughters, Avery and Addison. Avery graduated from UT and is in LA pursuing a Criminal Justice Master’s Degree at USC while having fun as an actor. Addison graduated from Baylor and is a ER nurse at Children’s Hospital in Plano. She also got married last summer to Reed Ragsdale, so I am grateful to now have a son-in law in the family!

Karen and I joined HCC shortly after we moved to Coppell in 1998. I have been active in attending a lot of the men’s retreats, golf outings, and hosting an annual NCAA Basketball Championship party. I am currently a member of the HCC Facilities Committee and on some Sunday’s you can see me as a greeter at the front entrance. I served on session about 15 years ago and look forward to serving again.
